What are dogs made of?

Most of my dogs are “mixed breed”, what we use to call mutts. For the dogs we’ve tested, here’s a summary of their makeup.

Ghost

Ghost is a mashup of a lot of dog breeds but if you look at his picture you think “Siberian Husky” Turns out that’s not the largest percentage, Ghost is more “Chow Chow” that “Husky”. Where this shows up is in his curly tail and his blue tongue! Ghost weighs in at 60lbs, he’s lean and fast. Ghost sheds a lot, probably the reason he ended up in a shelter. No amount of brushing seems to help.

Suki

Suki has a bit of Husky & Chow Chow as well but her coloring comes from the “Tree Walking Coonhound”. Suki is a hunter, anything that moves is prey and her body count of chipmunks and squirrels is well over 50, while on a leash. At 31lbs, she’s fast and nimble.

Athena

Athena is a “sturdy dog”, it’s clear she has some “Pit Bull” in here lineage, but the Australian Shepherd shines through as Athena is very smart and expressive.
